Message from Chief Thomas P. Connolly, Jr.

Welcome to the Sanford Police Department's website. As the Chief of Police, I intend to develop a new mission statement in 2010 that is concurrent with the opening of the new Police Station. I will adopt this statement with the input of the police officers and civilian staff who comprise the department. In the interim, the mission of the Sanford Police Department shall be to enhance public safety with the goal of improving the quality of life within Sanford, while at the same time maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity by demonstrating the highest degree of ethical behavior and professional conduct at all times.

The Sanford Police Department is committed to working in partnership with the community to identify and resolve issues that impact public safety. We encourage you to become involved in making your neighborhoods safer, and we welcome any and all suggestions on how we may serve you better and become more effective. We take pride in the fact that we are constantly evaluating ourselves with the goal of improving our delivery of service.
